Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven
The time taken by Anup to reach Place B = 8.5 hours
Anuj is driving at 70 km/h
Anup is driving at 80 km/h
Formula used
Speed = Distance/time
Calculation
Total halt time of Anuj = 3 × 10 = 30 minutes = 0.5 hours
Actual driving time of Anuj = 8.5 - 0.5 = 8 hours
Total distance = 8 × 70 = 560 km.
Total halt time of Anup = 4 × 15 = 60minutes = 1 hours
The time taken by Anup to reach Place B = 560 / 80
= 7 hours
Total time = 7 + 1 = 8 hours.
The answer is 8 hours.
