Question
Download Solution PDFHow many cylinders of radius 10 cm and height 20 cm can be filled with water from a cylinder of radius 20 cm and height 100 cm full of water?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Cylinder of radius 10cm and height 20cm.
A cylinder has a 20 cm radius and 100 cm height.
Formula used:
Volume of cylinder \(=\pi r^2 h\)
Calculation:
The volume of the smaller cylinder \(=\pi×(10)^2×20 cm^3\) .
The Volume of the bigger cylinder \(=\pi×(20)^2×100cm^3\)
Number of cylinders \({\text{volume of bigger cylinder}\over\text{volume of smaller cylinder}}=\frac{\pi×(20)^2×100}{\pi×(10)^2×20}\\=20\)
Hence the required number of cylinders is 20.
