Given:

Mathematics books = 0.25M, Physics books = (2/3)P

Formula Used:

Ratio = Mathematics books : Physics books

Calculations:

⇒ 0.25M = (2/3)P

⇒ M/P = (2/3)/0.25

⇒ M/P = 8/3

Hence, the ratio of the number of mathematics books to that of the physics books in the library is 8:3.
