Given:

The production of cloths by Company A, B, and C in the years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 is provided in the bar graph.

Formula used:

Average production = (Sum of production over the years) / (Number of years)

Ratio of average production of Company A to Company B = (Average production of A) : (Average production of B)

Calculation:

For Company A:

Production in 2012 = 25 lakh tonnes

Production in 2013 = 50 lakh tonnes

Production in 2014 = 40 lakh tonnes

Total = 25 + 50 + 40 = 115 lakh tonnes

Average production of Company A = 115 / 3 lakh tonnes

For Company B:

Production in 2012 = 35 lakh tonnes

Production in 2013 = 40 lakh tonnes

Production in 2014 = 50 lakh tonnes

Total = 35 + 40 + 50 = 125 lakh tonnes

Average production of Company B = 125 / 3 lakh tonnes

Ratio of average production (A : B) = \(\frac{115}{3}\) : \(\frac{125}{3}\)

⇒ 23 : 25

∴ The correct answer is option 4) 23 : 25.
