Calculation

The perpendicular bisector of any chord passes through the centre of the circle,

OP ⊥ AB

In OPB, ∠OPB = 900

PB2 = OB2 – OP2

⇒ PB2 = 102 – 62

⇒ PB2 = 64

⇒ PB2 = 82

⇒ PB = 8 cm

OP bisects AB

⇒ AP = PB = 8 cm

∴ AB = AP + PB = 8 + 8 = 16 cm

The length of AB is 16 cm.
